Personal Strategic Planning

Strategic PlanningWhen we engage our judgmental minds and the various sub-parts of our personalities, we invite our souls to come forward in a very sacred way. We turn ourselves inward and invite presence to fill our minds and bodies, feeling an “aliveness” within that can’t be described. You just know. When we have a heart-to-heart conversation with ourselves, we uncover what wants to be born in the present moment, and we sense awe both within and without. When you notice this, it is vital to pay attention with your whole being. As an old proverb says: “A vision without a plan is just a dream. A plan without a vision is just drudgery. But a vision with a plan can change the world.”

Like any business plan, your personal strategic plan will include different categories. The key components are to be aligned with your values, vision, and purpose. You’ll ask yourself, “How do I allocate resources, both personal and financial? How can I set priorities, deadlines, etc.?” What is most important during this process is to focus your attention on the step you are taking in the present moment, being fully aware of where you want to go.

The plan is not the territory. Mindfulness will help you be more flexible in your planning. It will open you up to new frontiers. If you run into a detour, as you will, mindfulness will help you maintain an equilibrium right down the middle so you stay focused. You’ll look at your whole life situation from the perspective of open awareness. I notice that when this happens to me, I bring in self-compassion to all the various aspects of life, including my accounting work. You’ll fully recognize that you don’t have all the answers, but you find ways that help you get answers, sometimes in unforeseen ways. You start to close the gap between where you are and where you want to go. The action you take is rooted in presence and linked to your core values, vision, and purpose.

I help people with their personal strategic plans. I also work with business as a mindfulness coach helping to build resilience, creativity and compassion in the workplace. Schedule your online introductory session.
